How do you set sounds as ringtones on the LG V?

it wont let me set the free ringtones i get from the internet as ringtones but as sounds and it wont let me set sounds as ringtones. So is there a way around it?
How do you do those programs.
where do you run it from your computer?
and how do i edit my songs to ringtones from windows Media player?? thanks for the answer tho!

I have an LG300 and i’m with US Cellular, but I don’t have pic msg. I have text doe…so what are some free ringtone websites that I can get ringtones from? Oh yeah, I don’t have Internet either, just bluetooth.

Every time i go to a site they want either 5.99 or 9.99 for ringtones.isn’t there a site that is totally free.
