Who thinks that Ju’not from American Idol did better than the Plain White Tee’s?

I think that Ju’not made the song Delilah sound like a whole new song, he was fantastic. What do you think?

I thought it was great … but he should have shown off his vocals more

I thought it was good, not fantastic like you did though.Good enough for him to get to the top 12 anyway

He’s not bad. I like his voice. I’m just waiting for him to dazzle us and so far, he has left his bling back in Hollywood.

My husband and I both really liked him and even voted for him. We normally don’t vote until Top 12. We thought it was cool that he held back for most of the song.
BTW: Randy thought it was great that he held back and then Kara was like, “you need to let loose”…hmmmm, no he doesn’t Kara, listen to Randy.

He did ok. I wouldn’t say he’s better than the original. I think the song will definitely help him get through because everyone likes that song, and it’s a simple melody that didn’t show off his range or what exactly he can do, but he kept it safe and subtle. I actually liked his performance better than Lil Rounds’, and I think it’s mostly because of song choice. I did not like Lil’s song, so much that I didn’t even vote for her. I did throw a vote toward Ju’not though.

I thought he made Hey Delilah boring. All the notes he sang were pretty much in the same range. I’m glad that he changed up the song to show his diversity but with doing that he made the song boring and didn’t show his talent. He made the song soft and that is not what you want to do at this point in the competition.

Ju’not and LIL were my favorites last night, he did a great job

I personally liked Jamar’s version better. He should be in the Top 36 at least, if not the Top 12 with Danny. But,that being said, I do love how Ju’not took a Pop/Rock song and made it R&B. He took a song outside of his genre/comfort zone and made it fit him, like David Cook did all last season. I think that’s what separates a real artist from a good Karaoke singer. I just wish he added just a little more power to the last chorus. I love how he started out soft and subdued to play up the emotion of the song, but I kept waiting to hear him pick it up a little midway and then blow us away at the end. But it was still a nice performance.

So here is why i voted for only him last night. 27 times! (Not much, but my lucky number.) He didnt do BETTER than the Plain White T’s, but he could have. He showed just enough of his voice to let America know…”Hey, you want the whole thing? Vote me in!!” Me being an R&B and soul fan, im struggling to figure out why since Ruben Studdard, we have not had a black man go very far. I think a black dudes soulful voice is one of the best in music, To me, the black women all sound the same if they can sing. Why is America not feeling the same way? Brandon Marshall was voted top 12 and then booted in week one. (He wasnt as good, i agree.) Chickezie, i liked. He did an AMAZING week one performance only to get booted weeks later for doing a decent job. But look at past seasons also. Its crazy!
Junot did a BRILLIANT thing as far as holding back and showing jusssstttt enough of his skills to make America want more. Thats why the black guys have failed in the past, by overdoing it, trying to show the world they can SANG by yelling at them. And after KNOWING Scott will be safe tonight, and KNOWING LiL Rounds was safe tonight…i voted my lucky number for Junot for that tight race for the Third spot. Mark it doen, its gonna be Jorge, Felicia, or Junot for third tonight.
Oh sorry! Answer to your question? No. But thats because he held back…

LOVED HIM! He did a great job and made himself noticeable for once

I liked his rendition, but it was a little too flat and it lost some of the great melody I love. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really like Ju’Not that much. He has a great voice though.
